TEACHER: Sandra Hatter
TOPIC: Wisdom from the Book of James – “The Proverbs of the New Testament” – Author: Hickey
The book of James is the ultimate description of the relationship between faith and works. We see in the book of James a challenge to faithful followers of Jeus Christ, to not just “talk the talk,” but to “walk the walk.” The Wisdom of the Book of James shows us how to handle trials and temptations; how to have God’s wisdom flowing in our lives when we’re not sure what to do; shows us the importance of the words we speak; and how to develop strong relationships with others – James even reveals keys to financial success! The book of James is centered on making God’s Word an active part of our lives so that we can bring victory into everything we do. His book was written to help us walk as a “mature brother” of the Lord, and grow into all the fullness of the measure of Christ’s stature.

TOPIC: “Extraordinary, the Life You’re Meant to Live”. Author – John Bevere
Satisfy your intrinsic desire to rise above the norm. Isn’t it true that we long to see the extraordinary, experience the extraordinary, do the extraordinary? Yet, so often we settle for mediocrity when greatness is within our grasp. Why are we drawn to stories of heroic triumph over seemingly impossible circumstances? In our fascination with adventure movies, superheroes, and tales of incredible human feats, do we reveal an inherent desire for something larger and greater in life? Maybe what we think is a need to escape or be entertained is actually a God-inspired longing…for the extraordinary. This study reveals how all of us were “meant for more,” extraordinarily created and intended for a life that is anything but ordinary. Here is the roadmap for your journey of transformation. You are marked for a life that far surpasses the usual definitions of success or fulfillment.

ELECTIVE IV
ROOM-Fellowship Hall – Main Building
TEACHER: Charlotte Glenn
Unit 1 – “Ephesians: Understanding God’s Eternal Purposes.” Paul’s letter to the Ephesians is a joyful, victorious epistle about the nature of Christ’s church. In the letter he described what manner of church the Christian fellowship should be. God has taken diverse members from many walks of life and through Jesus Christ forged them into a fellowship of believers. The letter affirms that Christ is the foundation of the Church, believers are the brotherhood and eternal life is the destiny of the Church. The epistle is a glorious statement of victory and promise. It does not indicate any degree of discouragement even though it was written from prison
Unit 2 – “Commended by Christ” – This study depicts interactions between various individuals and Jesus Christ as portrayed in the Synoptic Gospels. Needy children, a rich young ruler, a woman with a bleeding disorder, a believing centurion, Mary and Martha, ten lepers, a blind beggar, and a generous widow are among the individuals studied.
